Happy Sunday! I am in pjs reading Poisonwood Bible in my tidied bedroom. School break is treating me well. I’m working my first sub shift at a different library today so I’m a tad nervous, but I gotta rip off the Band-Aid. I’ve plotted out my paychecks, putting most toward student loans and my apartment down payment savings. Any extra shifts I can use for fun money- like visiting you next year <3 One of my co-workers will be moved back to her branch this spring (it’s closed for renovations), meaning a librarian position will be open at the library I’m currently working at. I have a shot at having a thirty-two-hour position with the same commute working in the position of my dreams. Be still my driving-anxiety heart! I mean, who knows how it’ll shake out but I’m feeling good about my future, even if I will be living at home an extra year to pay off my loans. I’m looking at other counties too, but I love working at the library I’m currently posted. Maybe I’ve got to lay off my planning, it’s a little intense hahaha
Next week I’m working a sub, so I won’t be going to church until the following. I think I will go back to that UU church. You know all about the family drama I’ve been weathering, but I don’t think I’ve mentioned my parents have been treating me like an adult since it went down! I don’t know how long it’ll hold up but if it keeps up, I will move out of my house May 2020 no longer in debt. I can’t pass that up, you know? I’ve got to try. Let’s end with a story, story time with Rachel. Just picture us in my blanket fort like old times. Yesterday at work, a very attractive man who comes into the library on a regular basis informed me he liked my dress. Fine, thanks. But then he had to continue and describe why he liked my dress. He liked my dress because it “brings attention to your features” and “more women should dress this way.” WE ALL KNOW YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT MY TITS. USING THE WORD “FEATURES” DOESN’T MAKE THIS NOT HARASSMENT. I spoke over him telling me more women should dress the way he likes by saying “Thanks! I want to wear my summer clothes while it’s still nice out” and he took the hint and left.
Features, Belle. Features.
